Our Goal is to teach good culture using good tools, such as exhibits, hands on experience and other activities.

 

This project has been developed by The Centennial Cultural Center Inc., formally known as the LaSalle Art Council, Inc. to stimulate encourage, nurture, promote and produce culture and fine arts in LaSalle Parish, and when possible the social and economic environment of the area.

We are a 501 ( c ) 3 Non-profit organization.

Our Purpose:

1. To catalog and display our history.
2. To display, teach and demonstrate art.
3. To operate a living museum based on the folklore of our area.

Our Focus:

1. The collection of photographs, artifacts and memorabilia representing different time periods in the history of our communities (Olla, Tullos, and Urania).
2. A book that has been written by Dr. Jon Gibson, assisted by Juanita Wall and a chapter submitted by Dr. Anna Burns. The book 'Born and Raised on CastorCreek, A Century of Change' is on sale at the Center
3. Oral History on tape and videos are bing collected.
4. Resources for those who are interested in the history of our area.
5. A public display area for each of the three towns in our area.
